SFFILM champions the world's finest films and filmmakers through programs anchored in and inspired by the spirit and values of the San Francisco Bay Area. Presenter of the San Francisco International Film Festival, SFFILM is a year-round nonprofit organization delivering screenings and events to more than 100,000 film lovers and media education programs to more than 10,000 students and teachers annually. In addition to its public programs, SFFILM supports the careers of hundreds of independent filmmakers from the Bay Area and beyond with grants, residencies, and other creative development services.

The Lab SF

We believe that if we give artists enough funding, time, and space to realize their vision, the work they produce will change the way we experience the world. These are often small propositions that (like all great art) challenge the familiar ways we perceive value, and so we seek out extraordinary artists whose work is not easily monetized, or who are underrepresented as a result of gender, class, race, sexuality, or geography; we do this not so much because it's right (it is), but because it's interesting—it leads to good things. All we want is to be a catalyst for artistic experimentation (which often means failure). It's as simple and as hard as that.

Womens Audio Mission

WAM is a San Francisco-based nonprofit dedicated to the advancement of women/girls/gender non-conforming (GNC) individuals in music performance, production, and the recording arts, a field in which women are critically underrepresented (< 5%). Over 17 years, WAM has provided training to 18,000+ underserved women/girls & commissioned 400+ artists/ensembles from 21 countries to create/record/present new works to SF audiences. WAM trains 2,500+ underserved women/girls a year & commissions/presents new work by local women composers/musicians/artists to SF audiences of 2,000+/year. WAM’s world-class recording studio is the only studio in the world built/run entirely by women/GNC individuals & has hosted projects from Alanis Morissette, Radiohead, & Timbaland.

Root Division connects creativity and community through a dynamic ecosystem of arts education, exhibitions, and studios. Our mission is to empower artists, promote community service, inspire youth, and enrich the Bay Area through engagement in the visual arts. We provide discounted studio space for emerging artists in exchange for volunteer service in the community.
